So it is 3:20am and I am going to write a small blog as I have to play tomorrow at 11am. So I will be brief. Last night when I got in I went to the poker room to see if I could register for todays 11am event; but registration is only the day of the tourney. So I started walking back to my room when I heard all tournament players you have 1 minute to get to your seats as the cards will be in the air. I walked over to ask what tournament they were having and they said it was there $55.00 daily tournament. I asked if I could get in and was allowed. To make a long story short after 3 hours I was sitting at the final table and 45 minutes later was taking home first place. Since it was only a $50 buy in the win was only $450 but a good start to the week as that covers the buy-in and the 10 days I am here in Reno for the room.
Day 2 This morning I played in the $300 buy-in with around 80 players the paid the top 9 and I went out 22nd so no money. But after that I went back to the room for a 1 hour nap, grabbed dinner and then headed to play in the $200 7pm; the turn out was good and should be getting bigger through the weekend. They had over 90 in this event and again since I have to go to sleep I ended up taking 5th place for $1222.00. So even though these haven't been huge it is more then paying for the trip. First prize in this event was just over 6k. The hand I went out on was pretty brutal though; a guy that was the chip leader and raising a ton of pots again raised to 10k with the blinds at 1500/3000 with a 500 ante... I looked down at pocket QQ and moved all in for an additional 28k. After not much thought he ended up calling me and turning over A7, and hit an ace so I was eliminated in 5th. I will update the blog again after tomorrows tourneys.
