3 Amigos as they call it

If you look at the blog posted: http://news.pokerpages.com/index.php?option=com_simpleblog&task=view&id=2489

They called Joe Sebok, Men "the Master" Nguyen, and myself the 3 amigos. I have been lucky as I am finally getting some press. Brian who works for Pokerpages.com and is responsible for all the reporting on the Legends poker Classic. He not only covers the tournaments but plays in them also. He is a great guy and does a great job of covering the events. if you go to the website listed above you can follow the action instead of waiting for me to blog at night.

Today was a big event, compared to the others here and was good and bad. Good that I took 28th out of 136 bad that they only paid the top 18. So on the trip we are 1 for 3 but have many more to go. I do not play tomorrow as it is Limit holdem but will play in a satellite to try to get in the main event cheap.

Until next time...

No money today but played well

Today was a $550 event and started so well; after the first break I was at $5175 and we started at $2000. So in two rounds had more then doubled up. By the end of the 3rd round I was hovering just over $7000 so I felt very good about my game I had only played 7 hands in the first 3 rounds and won 6 out of 7. Always getting in with the best of it and then this hand came up.

I was on the button and a guy who was playing about 80% of the hands was very reckless and was not raising with good hands so when he bet $700 in middle position I was pretty happy to everyone to fold around to me; I looked down at Pockets JJ. So I called his bet and with the blinds at 100/200 the big blind called the additional 500.

The flop came down 267 with three different suites so a beautiful flop for me. The big blind checked and so did the crazy player. So I fired out $2100 into a $2200 pot; leaving me with about 4000 left in my stack. The big blind instantly folded and then the crazy guy thought for a while and then moved all in.

Now here is where I go into the tank (which means to think about your hand and what to do) I tried to replay the hand in my head. This guy was in middle position and raised so the hands based on his previous plays should be either a middle pair 88,99,1010 or something like AK, AQ, AJ, KQ; or even suited connectors so he could have 89, for a straight draw. With a big pair he usually limped in and if he had three of kind he probably would have bet out first to make sure he didnt give me a free card. So I had to think my hand was good, so based on all these hands I would be a favorite to any of them. and now there is 8700 in the pot and I am getting 2 to one on my money and I think I am a favorite. as if he had any of these hands at worst I would be a 3/2 favorite so I call.

I flip over my JJ and ask him if he has 2 overcards and he says yes so I am like great I made a good read on him as he flipped over AA. oops. BAD READ!!! I still had a chance after the 4th card as a 8 came on the turn so with one card to come I had a 12% chance of winning. Sometimes you go on your feeling, sometimes you go on the odds. and sometimes you go back to your hotel and get a good night sleep to win the next day.

I am in the latter.

Until tomorrow...

Next two days of No-Limit Holdem

Just wanted to give you all a heads up I will be playing in the 550 tourney tomorrow and then the 2600 the day after that. So if you are religous say a prayer that we win them both. I feel as though I am playing some of the best poker and want to make sure that I get any help I can get to win the races.

Until my next cash...
