This trip was a good one but still not the huge cash that we have wanted. But playing well and made 3 final tables. I placed 8th twice, 4th and won a single table satellite. I played in 16 tournaments and 4 Single table satellites. I was still very disappointed as in about 9 of the tourneys I bubbled just missing the money by 1-5 spots. God, I hate that, playing for 8-10 hours and then just come up short from making the money. Only one tournament did I go out really early; and it was really early.
I played with this player 2 nights before and he was playing ultra aggressive, bluffing a ton and getting a big stack and then just running over the table. So I knew I wanted to trap him early so that he would be either out or crippled with his chips so I could run the table instead of him. I thought it would take about an hour or so for that to occur; well that is what I thought but it happened in the 4th hand of the event. This guy was in middle position and it folded around to him and he raised. There was one caller and then I was on the button and looked down at AA and just called. The flop came 652 rainbow (all different suits) he fired out a big bet and the other person in the pot folded and I just called. I knew he couldn’t have hit that and was hoping for any face card so that hopefully he would hit his hand. The turn came Jack and again he bet out. I thought I couldn’t let him get another card so I moved all-in. He thought about it and eventually called with 10J. A perfect hand, as he only had 2 Jacks and 3 10s with only one card to come. Or a 10% chance to win the pot. But the river came another Jack and I was out.
That is the only tourney that I actually went out of the tournament early. The rest of the tourneys I went very deep into all of them. We played in smaller tournaments this time and the tournaments at Caesars were not run very well, so spent a lot of time over at the Venetian.
This was just the start to some big cashes. I received a lot of compliments on my play this trip and people asked me a lot of questions on hands and the way to play certain hands. It was a great!!!
Until next time....
