International recognition

My mentor Johan Storakers and I were talking online today and he told me something that was both fun and interesting. There is a weekly column in the Largest Swedish newspaper labeled, "ask the pro" it is all in Swedish so I do not have the full translation yet. To make a long story short, they interviewed Johan last week and asked many questions to the top Swedish player it was nice as he mentioned me in his answers. It was very nice of him, as he didn’t need to; the article mentioned that we met a few years ago at the world poker challenge in Reno, Nevada.

We sat next to each other in an event there for quite a few hours. We got to talking and at the end of the tournament spent time talking about specific hands and how we thought the correct way to play the different hands. At that time he was already a very successful, seasoned professional poker player. At that time he became my mentor and I owe a lot of my ability to him, from then on we have kept the discussions on hands and the outcomes so that we can learn from each other and discuss strategies. When we would meet at tournaments we would both take the time to go to the other persons table to see if there was anyone that we had either played with in the past or had information on the players so that we could use it to better understand the players at the table.

We have become great friends and I had the opportunity to negotiate his last poker sponsorship contract with Ulimatebet for the next two years. We have a great relationship and will for throughout our poker careers.

Until next time.
